Volunteering with the Woodlands Cemetery Association is one of the most meaningful ways to give back to the Treherne community and help preserve a vital piece of Manitoba heritage.
The Association depends on the generosity, skills, and time of community volunteers to keep the cemetery grounds beautiful and well-maintained. Whether you have a green thumb, a talent for organization, or simply a willingness to roll up your sleeves and help, there is a place for you at Woodlands Cemetery.
Our volunteers participate in activities including the annual spring clean-up bee, weekly and seasonal grounds maintenance, flower planting and tending throughout the summer months, and community engagement events that bring families together in a spirit of care and remembrance.
Volunteering at Woodlands Cemetery is also an opportunity to connect with your community and deepen your own sense of local heritage. Many of our dedicated volunteers have family members interred within the grounds, and they find that giving back to the cemetery is a profoundly personal and rewarding experience.

Join our annual spring gathering to prepare the cemetery grounds for the warmer months. Tasks include clearing winter debris, planting seasonal flowers, and refreshing the grounds.

Share your expertise and leadership by joining the volunteer board. The board meets regularly and makes decisions about cemetery operations, improvements, and community programs.

One of the most cherished traditions at Woodlands Cemetery, the flower planting bees transform the grounds into a colourful tribute to those who rest here. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to join in planting seasonal flowers throughout the cemetery, creating a beautiful and welcoming environment for families and visitors.
